Description

In the south west part of China , there is a group of people called 'miao ' live in the moutains , they are famous for 2 things --1, they use to make mystery and deadly poison , or say , curse . 'GU', is a weird king of bug that will hide in human body and took away the enemy's life . 2.beautiful silver jewery.
The girls in MIao group will wear silver crown , it is a huge hat made by silver ,it is so detailed and gorgeous that easily cost thousands of $$, thinking of a poor family that barely surived ---- they never thought of sell it out , it was consider a treasure pass through generations .
Back to 2000 I use to visit a small village of Miao , and recieved their friendly welcome ^^// they invited us to dance and give us rice cake and wine ! I also try wear the silver crown , hell , as beautiful as it is , it is so heavy that almost feel going to break my neck ------
BTW , yaoi con is over now , I asked my friend to mail me the posters and prepare to sell them on e-bay , will update more information about it soon !

I'm surprised that still not many Hmong knows that Miao were well known for poison, especially among the women. LOL

"Curse" on the other hand, not much so. It is more of a belief in karma than it is a curse. Many Miao follows beliefs similar to the Native Americans about birds, trees, rocks, and water. The Natives believe that each life form has a spirit IN them, while the Miao believes there's a spirit WITH them. If you have done bad karma, those spirits will avenge and make sure you receive a proper punishment for your misbehavior, which is where "curse" mainly lies.

And yeah. LOL They love their beautiful decorated silver so much, they could've become rich selling it but it's tradition, and they are beautifully detailed-decorated. The REAL silver jewelry will always be heavy... but in America... There are so many fake ones now because they are hollow and light.

I'm so happy to see more Miao/Hmong artworks as there aren't many.
